Berry Bury Berry Star Orbs and Star Wand Guide
Learn how to break and bank Star Orbs, use the Star Wand, upgrade Berry Buddies, troubleshoot controls, and protect progress before a Rewind.
Star Orbs are the permanent progression resource used to upgrade Berry Buddies with the Star Wand. Break the floating orbs to bank them, then pick up the Wand and throw it at the Buddy you want to upgrade. The $5,000,000 Star Key uses Money, not Star Orbs.

How to collect Star Orbs

Find the floating Star Orbs
Orbs appear around the garden as you progress. A floating orb is not yet safely banked.

Break the orb
Grab and throw it into a surface, collide it with other orbs, or use a charged Vacuum air blast to send it into a wall.

Check the banked total
Confirm the displayed Star Orb count increased before leaving or Rewinding.

Use automation later
If the Auto Star Orb Popper upgrade is available in your current progression, use it to reduce late-game cleanup.
How to use the Star Wand
- 1.Unlock the Star Wand through the Upgrade Tree.
- 2.Aim at or hover over the Wand before picking it up; the game can show the next Buddy upgrade cost.
- 3.On keyboard and mouse, tap E to pick it up. Do not hold the key if that activates another tool behavior.
- 4.Aim at the Berry Buddy you want to advance, then left-click to throw the Wand at it.
- 5.On controller, use the currently bound Pick Up / Use and Throw actions shown in Settings. The game now has full controller support, but bindings can be remapped and differ by platform.

Star Wand troubleshooting
The Wand only wiggles
Tap Pick Up / Use once instead of holding it. Controller players have reported timing sensitivity; check or remap the binding.
The Wand hits a Buddy but nothing happens
You may not have enough banked Star Orbs, or you may be targeting a Buddy that cannot advance. Hover over the Wand to check the cost.
The Vacuum does not collect an orb
The Vacuum does not directly bank Star Orbs. Break the orb by throwing it or blasting it into a wall.
The cost looks different from this table
Trust the current in-game UI and report the platform and game version so the table can be rechecked.
What happens to Star Orbs on Rewind?
Official February patch notes changed the Rewind text to say it retains “banked star orbs.” Break and bank every floating orb before confirming a Rewind. Buddy progress is also documented as carrying over by community completion sources.
Does the Star Key cost Star Orbs?
No. The Star Key upgrade for the Together Ending costs $5,000,000 in game Money. It requires 0 Star Orbs; the similar names are the source of a common guide error.

How do I pick up the Star Wand on PC?
With default keyboard controls, tap E once, aim at the Buddy, and left-click to throw. Hover over the Wand first to see the required Star Orbs.
Do Star Orbs survive a Rewind?
Banked Star Orbs do. The official wording does not promise that floating, unbroken orbs survive, so bank them first.
How many Star Orbs does Belladonna require?
The final Pumpkin-to-Belladonna upgrade costs 9,999 Star Orbs; a new Blueberry Buddy reaches that stage at 16,395 cumulative Star Orbs.
